Art is Dead

This is art is dead by Bo Burnham. While it is technically comedy it does bring up common problems about modern artist. Mostly the disfunction of our idols how some people really do not deserve it.

  1. It is true. Art seems to be degraded now of days. People with little talent are indulged with fortunes. But real talent is still unappreciated. Funny song, I like it!!!

  2. This was an interesting song. I liked the piano and the word choice that he used. It was blunt and I think that people need that sometimes. It is actually true and funny!

  3. I love things like this which try to take rather sad situations such as the dying appreciation of good art and try to take it from a humorous but blunt angle. When he hits the points that discusse how a lot of the popular artists of today's generation are mainly concerned with how to get their audience's money I found myself laughing from how true it is. People who, in my opinion, don't deserve the spotlight in the arts community are being praised and acclaimed because they have the connections and the money. Then you have those who actually work hard, care for the future of music and actually have raw talent working late night hours at the pharmacy or whatever it is to live their life because they are under appreciated.

  4. To say all pop musicians have no talent is broad generalization. Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, music and art cannot be objectified so boldly. Personally, I consider myself a consumer of both the classical music industry AND of certain mainstream artists. Some of my good friends LOVE heavy metal; I don't. However, they view that as art, just as I value Prokofiev and Mahler. While I agree that the classical arts need support and merit, I think it's slightly ignorant to devalue so many artists who may appeal to a different population.
